7 Reasons to Share Chiropractic Care with Friends and Family

- Tuesday, March 15, 2022

Many people start chiropractic care for a few reasons. Either they are in pain and they find that chiropractic care keeps the pain from flaring up, or someone tells them how amazing it is and they are curious to find out what everyone has been raving about. Either way, starting chiropractic care is a lifelong journey into discovering how good you can feel, and how much better you can live, with an aligned nervous system.

But there is a lot to learn about chiropractic—how long it has been around, how it works, and how amazing it can make people feel. And that’s a journey best shared with the people that you care about. After all, don’t you want EVERYONE in your life to feel the way you do?

If you are wanting to share chiropractic with the people you love, share these 7 facts about chiropractic with them, and then give us a call at our Scarborough, Maine wellness center, (207)883-5549.

  1. “CHIROPRACTIC” MEANS “DONE BY HAND”

Many modern-day chiropractors mostly use their hands and arms to give adjustments. In fact, chiropractic adjustments are sometimes referred to as “manual therapies.” Chiropractors use their hands to examine a patient’s body as well as perform the manual therapies that address problems and relieve pain.

  2. THERE ARE ONE MILLION ADJUSTMENTS PERFORMED EVERY DAY

According to The Good Body, Monday through Friday, some one million Americans receive a chiropractic adjustment. That might seem like a startling statistic. However, it begins to make more sense when you crunch the numbers related to back pain.

80% of Americans experience back pain at some point during their lives. Nearly a third of those who have an aching back say that the cause is stress. Not only that, but we spend a whopping $50 billion annually on treating our back pain! Seeing a chiropractor is a cost-effective way to manage, mitigate and often, completely eradicate back pain, no surgery or medication required!

  3. IT’S NOT EASY TO BECOME A CHIROPRACTOR

To become a chiropractor, a student must graduate from an accredited chiropractic school. In order to enroll in this school, the student must have either a Bachelor’s degree or at least 90 semester hours of undergraduate coursework in a related field. During their education, students will participate in classroom lectures, laboratory sessions, and internships.

  4. ALL OF THE NFL TEAMS USE CHIROPRACTORS

Your favorite quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends all rely on chiropractic care to keep their bodies in prime physical condition. Each of the 32 teams in the National Football League has Doctors of Chiropractic on staff to provide adjustments to the players. Also, chiropractors are a regular part of the regimens of most Olympic level athletes.

  5. WE SPEND THE SAME AMOUNT ON PET SUPPLIES

We love our pets, and we spend some $14 billion on them each year — the same as we spend on chiropractic care. Just as you can’t put a price on the love and companionship of our fur-babies, you can’t put a price on living a pain-free life.

  6. CHIROPRACTIC IS ONE OF THE MOST STUDIED MEDICAL TREATMENTS

Chiropractic is well-respected among many medical professionals, and it has undergone intense scrutiny and study in the research community.

One study examined the differences in outcomes between prescription medications and chiropractic care. The study found that over half of the patients who received medication reported 30% less lower back pain after four weeks. Those who underwent chiropractic care, on the other hand? 94% experienced that 30% reduction in pain after a month!

  7. CHIROPRACTIC IS GREAT COMPLEMENTARY CARE

Chiropractic care can work wonders for your spinal health and your overall health, working well when used alone or as a complement to your regular medical care. It can save you money over visiting your general practitioner for certain complaints, like back pain or headaches. Many medical doctors refer to chiropractors to help their patients heal.
